Position Summary

FedData is seeking a proactive, highly organized Order Expediter to join our Army sales support team. The Order Expediter is responsible for managing customer purchase orders from award through final delivery. This individual ensures that every order is processed, tracked, and fulfilled accurately and on time by interfacing with customers, vendors, OEMs, and internal departments.

Essential Job Functions

 

  • Receive and process customer awards via our CRM, Salesforce
  • Track and manage all open orders throughout their lifecycle until fully closed
  • Work directly with OEMs, vendors, and distributors to ensure smooth, accurate, and timely delivery
  • Communicate order timelines and shipping updates to customers
  • Provide all levels of customer service and post-sales support
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Accounting, Warehouse, Purchasing) to ensure fulfillment
  • Monitor order exceptions, delays, backorders, and proactively escalate or resolve
  • Maintain accurate records of tracking numbers, order updates, acknowledgments, and invoices
  • Provide timely internal reports on order status, fulfillment metrics, and risks

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • There is no clearance required for this position
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in order management, logistics, or federal procurement support
  • Strong communication, organizational, and follow-up skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM/order entry tools
  • Ability to multitask under tight deadlines with accuracy and composure

Desired/Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Army procurement processes and contract vehicles (ITES-3H, ITES-4H, etc.)
  • Experience interacting with OEM portals and federal resellers
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, team-oriented environment

Working Conditions:

This role may be performed remotely or from the Annapolis Junction office. Work hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional extended hours during critical delivery windows.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.

Background Screening/Check/Investigation:

Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
